Engineering focus
The work is about continuity: knowing when the visual evidence is useful, when it has been lost, and what needs to be evaluated next.
Study how a designated object becomes an onboard visual track, with the external input and its limitations stated.
Evaluate changing viewpoints, clutter, competing objects, temporary loss and reacquisition.
Measure processing on the hardware used, with the workload and timing conditions kept explicit.
Current stage
Work to date spans simulation studies, recorded-video evaluations and physical-camera bench experiments with embedded computing. Cross-domain reliability and integrated autonomous flight remain open validation steps.
Visible-camera work leads the current programme. Thermal evaluation is a later path. Platform adaptability is a design intention to evaluate with partners.
